Hanga Ten is the only gallery in the UK and Europe dedicated exclusively to contemporary Japanese prints. Our collection features original, limited-edition works—almost always meticulously hand-printed by the artists themselves.
We represent over twenty-five artists, either Japanese or foreign artists who have lived in Japan for many years. Many are internationally recognised, with work featured in global collections. We also support emerging artists selected for their exceptional talent. Styles range from traditional Japanese scenes to bold contemporary abstractions, all grounded in the originality and technical excellence of the artists’ work based on the disciplines of Japanese printmaking. Hanga Ten exhibits at major art fairs in the UK up to six times a year. Frequent visits to Japan ensure strong and long-term relationships with our artists which our international clientele can confidently rely upon.
This website features a curated sample from each artist. Please contact us if you’d like to explore more works or have specific questions.
The beauty of these prints is often best appreciated in person—the textures and colours are complex to capture in photos. We welcome visitors by appointment or during our exhibitions.
