TOKITOH AYAKO

Born in Tokyo in 1970, Tokitoh Ayako studied at Nippon Engineering College before training under renowned silkscreen master Kasai Masahiro. Her artistic career includes solo exhibitions in both Tokyo and Osaka. In 2002, she received recognition with a prize at the Tokyo International Mini Print Triennial, marking her place in the Japanese printmaking scene.

Tokitoh Ayako is known for her delicate silkscreen prints of flowers. She draws her floral motifs directly onto the screen and uses translucent ink to create soft layers of grey, blue, and green. By repeating the printing process around ten times, she brings depth and subtle texture to each piece—balancing lightness with visual substance.

Tokitoh’s work resonates with collectors who appreciate minimalist Japanese aesthetics and refined technique.
